SuperGrans Western Bay of Plenty is based in Katikati and was established in 2017 with the vision of creating opportunities for all ages to share wisdom, knowledge and life skills so that generations are learning from each other, living and growing together.
Our belief is that we have a wealth of knowledge in our community and that we can foster a transference of skills by recruiting volunteers who have the heart to pass on their skills to others. We want to give our community a hand up!
Our Super Grans volunteers support people to learn skills in the areas of home management, cooking, meal planning, preserving, preparing for employment, sewing and mending, household budgeting, growing food, parenting, dealing with government and social agencies, as well as knitting, crochet and handicrafts. This could be either on a one-to-one basis, or in a group environment.
