We are helping out in the Katikati Primary School garden two days a week. Our Super Grans are working with small groups of students to teach them how to grow their own food. The garden is productive all year round.
We are working with small groups of senior students at Katikati Primary to help them to learn sewing, knitting, cooking, science and craft skills. We've made some yummy food, knitted some peggy squares and created some great vertical gardens - all of which have taught the children some valuable life skills.
Gardening at Katikati College
We are working with the Innovative Horticulture Programme at Katikati College. Our Super Grans work with small groups of students during their class-time to enhance their horticultural knowledge.
We have a dedicated team of volunteers who are knitting peggy squares and sewing them into blankets. These are donated to Plunket so that every baby born in our town can be warm.
